Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley was born in Tupelo, Mississippi in 1935 and grew up in Memphis, Tennessee, where he absorbed gospel, country, and rhythm and blues. He began recording in 1954 and became one of the central figures in rock and roll, blending those influences into a style that also carried strong pop and rockabilly threads. Over a career spanning more than two decades, he recorded dozens of albums and starred in a long string of Hollywood films.
