Faron Young

Faron Young was a country singer from Shreveport, Louisiana, active from the early 1950s through the mid-1980s. He built his reputation in the honky-tonk tradition, scoring hits like 'Hello Walls' and 'It's Four in the Morning', and was a central figure in the transition from post-war roadhouse country to the Nashville Sound. Nicknamed the 'Hillbilly Heartthrob', he was known as much for his outsized personality as for his broad vocal range.
