Otis Redding

Otis Redding was a singer and songwriter from Macon, Georgia, widely regarded as one of the defining voices in soul and rhythm and blues. He recorded for Stax Records through its Volt subsidiary and built a reputation for raw, emotionally direct performances. He died in a plane crash in December 1967, leaving behind a body of work that shaped soul music for decades.
