The Lovin Spoonful
The Lovin' Spoonful formed in New York City in 1965, built around singer and songwriter John Sebastian and guitarist Zal Yanovsky, both veterans of the Greenwich Village folk scene. The band helped shape folk rock and jug band-influenced pop, scoring a run of hits through the mid-1960s. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2000.
