What's the difference between an arrangement and a transcription?
A transcription captures the exact piano notes from a recording. An arrangement writes a new piano part based on the song's melody and harmony. Useful when there's no piano in the original, or when you want a single playable solo piano version of a full band track.
Can I make a piano arrangement of a song that has no piano in it?
Yes. That's exactly what arrangement mode is built for. Upload a guitar song, a vocal track, or a full band recording and we'll generate a solo piano version that captures the melody and chord progression.
How playable is the output?
Arrangements are written to be playable by a real pianist. Melody sits in the right hand, harmony and bass in the left. You can edit anything that's awkward in the built-in editor before exporting.
Can I simplify the arrangement to my level?
Yes. Once your arrangement is ready, you can automatically generate an easier version of the same piece. The melody and chord progression stay intact, but tricky passages are thinned out so beginners and intermediate players can actually play them. Switch back to the original any time.
Is Songscription free to use?
Yes. You can transcribe unlimited 30-second clips for free, with a free trial for longer ones. Paid plans give you more transcription time and support for longer files.
